The droid from the Star Wars franchise was sent on a secret mission to space to find secret enemy data to help the Resistance.
To celebrate the launch of its latest Star Wars toy line, Argos has catapulted the franchise’s iconic droid, BB-8, into space.
Back in 2015, BB-8 was captured by The first Order, before escaping Admiral Hex and returning to Earth, having stolen secret enemy data.
Ahead of the movie release, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the robot was sent to space on a secret mission to return the secret enemy data, to help the Resistance in their upcoming fights with evil forces.
“Star Wars has always been at the forefront of bringing new galaxies and space travel to the masses,” said Dan Blaney, space expert at Sent into Space.
“We were thrilled to have helped Argos send the iconic BB-8 to return his secret data to the resistance, ahead of Star Wars: The Last Jedi being released this year.”
BB-8 completed his mission in a few hours, where the robot reached a speed of over 200 milers per hour, before safely landing back on Earth to join the retailer’s expansive range of Star Wars toys.
Paul Kinge, toy buyer at Argos, added: “Our wide range of Star Wars: The Last Jedi toys features exclusive ranges that are incredibly realistic, making them a must have item for the many fans and super-fans out there.
“To celebrate their release, it seemed only right to resurrect an iconic story line, in this case BB-8’s from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with a special mission ahead of the new movie release this December.”
