The follow up titles to 2015's runaway gaming success Pie Face arrive courtesy of Hasbro and include a new two player and an official Minions version.
Global toy maker Hasbro has unveiled the follow up titles to its smash hit game Pie Face with a new two player version and an official Minions Pie Face.
The new titles were revealed during January and February’s Toy Fair season in which Hasbro showcased the latest titles for 2016 at Nuremberg’s Spielwarenemesse and the North American International Toy Fair.
A two player follow up title to the 2015 runaway gaming success, Pie Face Showdown sees two players place their faces within the cardboard background. They must then engage in a battle to push the cream-laden spring-loaded arm into the ‘danger zone’ on each player’s side.
Whoever’s face rests above the arm when it hits the red zone is in for a helping of Pie Face cream.
The new title joins a portfolio that also includes a festive themed Pie Face Holiday and official Minions Pie Face, featuring characters for the hit movie.
The first images of the new games were leaked on Twitter earlier this month. On February 12th, The Toy Insider tweeted:
Last year, Pie Face shot to fame after a video of the game being played by a Grandfather and his Grandson went viral. Sales of the game following the homemade video reached an ‘unprecedented level.’
Word on the pricing of the new titles, launch dates and marketing plans surrounding their launch are – for the moment – being kept under wraps, but Hasbro has stated will reveal more details soon.
